Changing Your Motorcycles Oil

Changing your motorbike’s oil will not only increase your safety on the road, but will also guarantee that your vehicle will stay in great condition for a long time. However, regular visits to the shop can be time consuming if not expensive. Fortunately, you can change the oil yourself as long as you follow this simple guide.

Before anything else, prepare the area wherein you will work. Remember, you will be dealing with oil, so expect to get messy. Hence, prepare all your tools including a few rags or pieces of cloths. Next, place a pan directly under your bike’s drain plug and then open the plug using a wrench. Let the oil flow into the pan and continuously monitor the process. In doing so, make sure that you do not touch anything as some surfaces may be hot. Furthermore, remove the oil filter and clean it or replace it with a new one. After which, take a look at your motorbike’s manual and look for information regarding its oil capacity. To continue on, use the funnel and slowly pour the oil until it is in the right level. Finally, see to it that all bolts are tight.
